Title of Presentation – Meet Gilbert & Sullivan – A Legacy of Enduring Charm and Wit.

Dr Kandie Smith has sung and performed throughout the United States and Europe, specializing in oratorio, legitimate musical theater and operetta.  Her work in these genres has spanned more than twenty years, and has afforded her the opportunity to work for theaters and companies such as Ohio Light Opera, Stracke Interwelt Produktions, Riverside Theatre, Seaside Music Theater, and more.

A passionate teacher of singing and music, Dr. Smith serves as Instructor of Musical Theatre at Florida School of the Arts, located on the campus of St. Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida.

Dr. Smith will be joined by 3-4 current Musical Theatre majors at Florida School of the Arts (actual personnel TBD pending casting for our Spring Musical!).  She will focus the lecture and presentation primarily around THE MIKADO and its modern adaptation, THE HOT MIKADO.

The Flagler Room is inside the main Flagler College campus at 74 King Street and to the left after you have entered the main building (passed the decorative fountain in the courtyard and up the six or so steps to the main entrance)
