Capturing the historic mystery and excitement of the famous luxury train known as the Orient Express, which ran from Paris, France to Istanbul, Turkey for more than 80 years from 1883 to 1977, the EMMA Guild will sponsor an evening of entertainment reminiscent of the glamour of that era. Guild member Emilie Pridgen chairs the event, and with other guild members, plans live musical entertainment featuring the 3-piece combo “Nostalgia” to play traditional dinner dance music with a European flair.

The décor will reflect the enchantment and sumptuousness of the Orient Express train travel during that period; and the menu, too, will carry on the theme by including Boeuf a la Bourguignon (a Parisian favorite) and Turkish Chicken, with a Vegetarian Lasagna option. To get the dancing started, a dance demonstration of the tango and bolero will be presented  by Victoria Lane Rowland, professional dance performer and dance teacher. Her dance partner will be one of her students, Jeffrey Phillips.

There will be a cash bar and a silent auction for many donated items such as original artwork, jewelry, week-end getaway for 2, and other desirable prizes. Cocktail attire is appropriate. Tickets are $40 per person. To make reservations please call 904-797-6243. Checks should be made payable to the EMMA Guild and mailed to The EMMA Guild Dinner Dance Fundraiser at 108 Augusta Circle, St. Augustine, FL 32086.
