Interested in becoming involved with EMMA? For $15/year you can help put on these beautiful concerts! The EMMA Guild is described by our Guild President as ‘The heart of EMMA’.

You can either participate as a Committee Chairperson or simply as a member. Click either one below for more information about the different ways you can get involved. Then download a membership form, check off your areas of expertise, and get started today!

Administrative

  • Committee Coordinator Chair – corresponds with Committee Chairs to keep Guild President updated
  • Box Office Chair (EMMA Board position) – in charge of all aspects of ticket sales for all concerts
  • Membership Chair – in charge of all aspects of membership maintenance and promotion
  • Mailing Chair – in charge of preparation and mailing of approximately 6 mailings per season
  • Telephone Chair -in charge of organizing and making telephone calls to keep members updated

Hospitality

  • Hospitality Chair – in charge of lobby refreshments service, Guild meeting refreshments and working with individual fund raising events chairs for the Gala, Spring Dinner Dance, Silent Auction and Annual Guild Dinner

Fundraising Events

Each fund raising Chair coordinates with the Hospitality Chair and the event team to party plan every detail of the event.

  • Gala – Ranges from August to October
  • Spring Dinner Dance – January to March Silent Auction: January to March
  • Annual Guild Dinner – February to April

Concert Operations

  • Concert Operations Chair (EMMA Board position) – coordinates from artist contracts backstage needs
  • Usher Chair – in charge of all usher, greeter, promotional sales duties before and after concerts
  • Membership Chair – in charge of scheduling membership table greeter and supplying materials

Advertising & P.R.

  • Paid Advertising Chair – coordinates ad placement and timing
  • Footnotes Chair – in charge of all aspects of selling advertising space in programs
  • Public Relations Chair – in charge of all aspects of public relations to do with press and photos
  • Graphics Chair – in charge of all aspects of designing Guild invitations and advertisements
  • Historian – in charge of maintaining scrapbook of EMMA Guild events and coordinating photographer
  • Area Ambassador Chair – In charge of coordinating Ambassadors

  • Membership data entry – Keep Guild directory and membership information up-to-date
  • Mailings – Prepare approximately 6 mailings per season
  • Telephone – Make telephone calls to Guild members to communicate information
  • Email – Prepare and send email blasts to Guild members to communicate information

Hospitality

  • Lobby refreshment service – Manage water table at all concerts
  • Guild meeting refreshments – Furnish refreshments for 3 Guild meetings (reimbursable exp.)
  • Fund raising events – Focus on the food and beverage arrangements at fund raising events

Fundraising Events

Become part of the fund raising team which coordinates everything from: designing and ordering invitations, hiring a caterer, decorating the room, in other words the EMMA Guild party planners!

  • Gala – Ranges from August to October
  • Spring Dinner Dance – January to March
  • Silent Auction – January to March
  • Annual Guild Dinner – February to April

Concert Operations

  • Artist’s needs backstage – Assist with backstage needs and refreshment delivery and set-up
  • Ushers and greeters – Take tickets, hand-out programs, usher people to seats at concerts, tidy after concert
  • Promotional (cds, etc.) table – Set-up and sell compact discs
  • Membership table – Set-up materials, greet and answer patron membership questions during concerts

Advertising & P.R.

  • Sell Footnotes ad space – Sell ad space in programs and deliver a copy to advertiser with thank you letter
  • Media press release writer – Write press releases for publications of Guild events
  • Graphic designer – Design Guild invitations and advertisements
  • Photographer – Take digital photographs of EMMA events for Guild Historian and website use
  • Area Ambassador – Identify an area to keep informed of EMMA concerts and events
