Gainesville Orchestra Holiday Pops
Led by Maestro Evans Haile, The Gainesville Orchestrea was founded in 1983. The 100+ musician symphony performs throughout Florida, with programs that include classical and contemporary music. The orchestra will play classic holiday music, showcase a professional vocalist, host a sing-a-long portion of the concerts, along with a few surprises. Don’t miss this annual holiday tradition!

GUEST ARTIST

KLEA BLACKHURST has performed in legendary halls from The London Palladium to Carnegie Hall, The Royal Albert Hall to Jazz at Lincoln Center and Cafe Carlyle to The Bluebird Cafe. She starred in the 50th anniversary production of Hello, Dolly! and led a critically lauded production of Gypsy at Drury Lane in Chicago.

She’s brought her brand of comedy to the development of many new works, notably the world premiere of Hazel directed by Lucie Arnaz and The Nutty Professor, directed by Jerry Lewis, with a score by Rupert Holmes and Marvin Hamlisch.

Off-Bway credits include Party Face, opposite Hayley Mills; A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Bingo, Radio Gals, Oil City Symphony. Other credits: Ragtime with the Boston Pops, Show Boat for Glimmerglass Opera, Into the Woods with Opera North and Chicago at Pioneer Theatre Company in her hometown of Salt Lake City. TV: Former prosecutor, Shelby Cross on “Onion News Network,” “Law and Order SVU,” “The Knick” and “Pose.”

A musical theatre historian who performs what she finds as opposed to writing books about it, she is best known for her award-winning Ethel Merman tribute, Everything The Traffic Will Allow. This, along with four additional shows, comprise “The Box Set,” currently performing in residence at Chelsea Table & Stage. She teaches masterclasses through the ASCAP Foundation and privately through Klea Blackhurst Studio. She is a member of Mendez Boxing Harlem, where she is known as The Belter. Klea is a distinguished Alumna of the University of Utah.
